The Adelaide Jelly Coworking meetup is a fun and free fortnightly event to bring people together at interesting spaces in Adelaide so they can experience coworking, collaborate and meet new people. You can find out more about the group here and on meetup.
We’ve had the opportunity to work from some amazing spaces all around Adelaide from incubators to coworking spaces to offices but we’re always on the lookout for new venues. If you own or work for a venue which would like to host a Jelly meetup or you have a suggestion for a venue, please let us know using the form below.
There are three reasons why you should host a Jelly at your venue;
- Opportunity to showcase your space to the Jelliers (plus the secondary wave of word of mouth generated from Jelliers after they go home and tell their friends and family)
- Exposure from our social media, website and email channels in the lead up to and post event
- The warm fuzzy feeling you get from contributing to the Adelaide startup and small business communities and the intangible and indirect benefits that come from that
The main reasons that people come along to Jelly meetups are;
- To get out of the house, meet new people and collaborate
- To try coworking and see the various work spaces that Adelaide has to offer
Here’s a message from someone who attended our meetup and then went on to become a member at HUB Adelaide:
Typical Event Details
When: Events occur fortnightly on a Friday
Usual running time: 10am – 5pm (this is flexible depending on the time you have available at your space)
Facilities required: All we need is a space to work from, access to power and WIFI. Anything else is totally up to the venue. If you have water (to drink) and a whiteboard for us to write on that would be a bonus but is not essential.
Who goes: We get a mix of small business owners, freelancers and others looking for an opportunity to collaborate and explore cool work spaces
Numbers: We usually get 8 – 12 people. If you have a smaller space we can limit the registration numbers or if you have plenty of space we can throw the limit wide open.
What happens: There’s no real structure to the day apart from a group lunch around 1pm. Some people arrive late, some leave early and each person will do a mix of working, chatting and collaborating throughout the day.
The Organisers: The Jelly concept was founded in New York in 2006 and is now in over 100 cities throughout the world. It was brought to Adelaide in 2014 by Richie Khoo. The organisers group currently consists of Richie Khoo, Phil Khoo, Matt Thyer and Nick Morris who are all volunteers.
Can we (the venue) present something to the group? Jelly is not meant to be sales event for the venue (or anyone else), but our members would certainly appreciate hearing more about your space, your facilities and any other services you provide as well as a tour of your space (up to 15 mins would be fine).
